Hello Alles Mode readers, this is Meanz from Koi Story. I was ecstatic when I got asked to do a guest post to showcase how to dress for a holiday party, partly because I really hadn't figured out what I was wearing for my family's party yet! I decided to go with a simple black dress layered over a checkered sleeveless button up. To add some festive flare, I wore my green hat and red sheer tights. To round off the outfit of course I belted it, put on some simple black heels and wore a pale pink cardigan as to not distract from the pops of holiday color I added. Hope you like it! Happy Holidays!

Outfit details:
pale pink cardigan - new york and company
black velvet dress - target
red sheer tights - target
black heels - target
belt - thrifted
checkered sleeveless button up - thrifted
green hat - H&M

Holiday Guest Post: Dimestore Diamond

{Please welcome the fabulous Maggie of Dimestore Diamond! Her blog is another one that we found very early on and were even inspired by, so we're go honored to have her guest post for us!}

Tee: Old Navy

Dress: BB Dakota via ModCloth

Tights: UO

Heels: Target

Necklace: Patina

Hello! Maggie here from Dimestore Diamond! I was so excited when Blythe and Charlotte asked me to do a holiday party post! I actually wore modified version of this outfit to a party a few weeks ago (take away heels, add boots).

My favorite aspect is the natural waistline so that I can eat and drink to my heart's content at said party! It certainly beats unbuttoning pants (no one likes it when someone does that at their party!).

My second favorite aspect of the outfit is that it's festive without being blatantly holiday. You know, it doesn't scream "I've been waiting all year to wear this green and red ensemble!!!!!". I've screamed that before, but I'm on the up and up.

Thanks for checking out my holiday outfit- hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! Come by and visit me at my normal haunt if you get the itch!

Holiday Guest Post: Just Take a Bow

{Up next is Sarah from Just Take a Bow. We found Sarah's blog really recently, but still love it! She puts together some amazing outfits and has some great series! Thanks again, Sarah!}

Hello there, readers of Alles Mode! My name is Sarah and I blog over at a little place called Just Take a Bow. Blythe and Charlotte asked me to join them on their blog today and show off a little holiday party number. And I was thrilled because, well, this adorable outfit ain't going to no holiday parties, sadly. The sad truth is that even though I am 21 and could go anywhere I want, I will not be stylishly attending any highfalutin parties.

Dress: Maggy London

Sweater: thrifted

Tights: Merona

Shoes: thrifted Banana Republic

Jewelry: thrifted

Luckily, I had the perfect silk little black dress that doesn't get enough of the spotlight and I dressed it up, holiday cliche style. I haven't worn it in several years (yikes!) but I adore it. I mean, look! It even has an adorable bow on the back for when that sweater just has to slip off.

And what two accessories could be more perfect than a chunky bracelet that I got at a barn sale (yes, a barn sale) for 50 and a glass of the bubbly stuff--pomegranate and strawberry sparkling cider, that is.

I admit, I really wanted to somehow make it look like I was at a real party and having an amazing time being a little budding socialite but I opted for honesty instead. And here's the honest truth: I'm adorable and have holiday clothes; someone should invite me to a party!

Anyway, it was great to meet all of you. If you want to see more, I've got a little corner of the internet to myself called Just Take a Bow. Big thanks to Blythe and Charlotte for having me over!

Holiday Guest Post: Chic on the Cheap

{Charlotte here. We're so excited to have Lydia guest post for us since she's one of the blogs I first found! Thanks so much for posting, Lydia!}

Hi, Lydia from Chic on the Cheap here with my holiday party look!
Since I don't have too many formal affairs to attend this year, I've decided to share what I wore to my office Christmas party. It's a lunch, so it's both daytime and work appropriate, but still feels festive, and a bit glam.

I started with my antler tee, a J.Crew clearance find that I only seem to want to wear during the month of December. The beaded antler design is festive without being blatant.

I paired it with a pencil skirt in a bright color, and a velvet blazer and finished off the look with leopard patterned tights and heels.

Holiday Guest Post: An Old Story

{Hey everyone! Please welcome Hannah to our blog as she kicks off our holiday guest posting! She's such a sweet girl and puts together the cutest outfits, so we're very excited to have her post here!}
 Hello readers of Alles Mode! I'm Hannah from the blog An Old Story. Blythe and Charlotte asked me to make up a post of what I would wear to a holiday party, so I took a little cue from Charlotte's usual post layouts and I came up with this.
Imagine with me if you will that just got out of school, or in my case, done with babysitting (!) and you're looking for a quick change from your jeans/sweater/sneakers look. I stuck with my sweater and added to it some pretty tights, a fun skirt, a punchy (or punch colored) blazer, shiny earrings, and of course some heels! It may not sound quick, but I'm actually really quick at changing my clothes, so it worked for me to keep my shirt on. Actually, in most situations it works for me to keep my shirt on. ;)
So now I'm going to cross my fingers and hope I actually get invited to a Christmas party this year so I can wear this in front of people!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my guest post. Feel free to stop by my blog sometime, or just hang out on here and gets lottsa inspiration from Blythe & Charlotte. Either option would be super cool. Happy Holidays!! :)

Outfit details - Skirt/Blazer/Sweater, total of $6
(all thrifted) - Tights, $5.50 (from good ol' Wal-Mart) - High heels, ??
(?? been in my closet for far too long) - Earrings, $1 (Claire's a long
time ago)
