Sense

Please excuse the gray everything in the yard. Winter is a kind, lovely thing.

Shirt: Land's End
Dress: Dillard's
Belt: Vintage
Cardigan: Urban Outfitter's Clearance (Gifted)

I don't make sense sometimes. Blythe and I got the email about the Everybody, Everywear  thing and were very excited (it's totally brilliant), but somehow forgot. Until I logged on to Blogger today! And I threw this outfit together in a few minutes and took these pictures in the last few rays of today's sunshine. Score. And I have to say, for an outfit I just threw together, I really really like it (other wise I probably wouldn't have posted it). So out of this crazy nonsense/no-sense came an outfit that I love! I don't know why I automatically reached for a dress. I've been posting outfits with pants left and right lately. But today I just felt like wearing a dress. With no real sense to it. I couldn't decide on belting it though...I had to wear a belt because I threw the sweater on over a dress, but I wasn't sure if I should belt the cardigan at first or not. I didn't, and then after looking at the pictures, the outfit felt a little...shapeless. So I belted the cardigan. I'm glad I did because I like the second version much better, but I belt things all the time, so I wanted to challenge myself to not do it as much. We'll just say I'm making progress. I'll feel better.

Speaking of making no sense, I'm surprised this cardigan hasn't made it's way on the blog before. I got it for Christmas from my brother ("Wow! You're brother has great taste!" -Blythe) and it's my absolute favorite. You might not be able to tell right away, but the dark gray inserts are actually sheer! I love that about this cardigan. That it looks one way at first but when you take a second glance, it's totally different.

  1. I'm glad you saw the posts and joined in. That outfit LOOKS like you spent time on it, even if you just threw it on. The maxi dress (as a skirt?) makes your look stand out --- in a good way.

  6. I adore that slate-y blue color! And this long length is just brilliant. I must add more maxi-style dresses and skirts to my closet! I totally forgot about Stripes Day! I was so mad at myself! I mean, c'mon! I love stripes, and I love themes! I can't believe I missed a day to celebrate them both!

  7. Wow your brother does have good taste! I love that it's sheer like that, really clever. And it's funny your top is Land's End - the moment I posted about AA dropping me, I got an email about running a little Land's End banner - and while I get these kind offers pretty regularly, the guy's approach was so straight forward and simple I decided to go for it! So my radar for Land's End was on. I like that brand.

Thanks for your sweet comment little sister! ; ) Have a lovely day & my best to Blythe. xx

  10. Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see
if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube
sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she
has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with
    someone!
