Sorry the lighting is a bit wonky in these pictures!
I absolutely love the patterns on this skirt, and I think it's perfect for summer, with it's warm colors and florals, but it's a bit difficult to style. This is mostly because of the length. It's usually falls to below my knee, and so I have a hard time putting outfits together with it sometimes because they can look a bit too 50s for my personal style. I'm not sure why it took me this long, but I finally figured out a way to fix this! I acted like my little middle school self and rolled the waist band up as much as I could/to the point where the skirt was the length that I wanted! We used to do this all the time in P.E. because we had to buy these horrible shorts that were really awkwardly cut. The only way to make them comfortable to wear was to roll up the waist bands, but we couldn't too far, because we still had to follow the finger tip rule!
This has brought back lots of uncomfortable pre-teen memories, like the smell of the cafeteria and locker rooms, but I still like the result of the outfit. It's a bit more modern with this length, and feels more like me.

I'm laughing at the PE waist-rolling business. Totally used to do that!
