New Year's Style Resolutions

I've been sick for the last couple of days, so I haven't been able to put together any new outfit posts. But then I remembered my style resolution posts that I did last year and decided to make some more for this year! Instead of putting posts together based on specific ideas, I'm just going to include outfits I've seen lately and what I want to incorporate from them in the new year.

I love the idea of a button down under a v-neck sweater to give an outfit a fun detail, especially when there are patterns or pops of color included.

Also having to do with button downs, I'm eager to try a thin ribbon tied as a bow at the collar.

While shorts aren't really being sold right now, I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for fun, patterned shorts (or rompers) like these. They'd make summer outfits more interesting, and add a dash of the unexpected in fall or winter.

I'm not brave enough to try a backwards cardigan without a shirt underneath, but I love the idea. In summer, I might throw on a backwards cardigan over a dress, but for now, I'm going to stick with a cardigan and shirt in similar colors to slowly try out this idea.

And also to do with button downs (geez there are a lot in here!), I love the idea of a tied button down with jeans and a necklace in the collar. Basically, I want to experiment more with button downs in the new year! Like last year, I also want to play more with color and patterns too (weird that some of my style resolutions are the same!).

  1. Last year I thought I wanted to play with button downs and realized that are so not for me. AT all. But I hope you find a good place for them in your wardrobe. (:
